Front End & Susp Swap

I'm looking at an 82 K5 2wd that has been converted to a pre-runner.

It has been lifted w fabtech arms deaver rear springs fibreglass fenders and hood just painted, beard seats.

I wonder if it would be hard to find someone with the OE parts to put this back to stock?

Re: Front End & Susp Swap

Thos Fab tech parts are supposedly worth money, and are the fiberglass parts are worth a few bucks.

Unless you really want the truck. Your going to spend more money turning it back to stock then just buying another Blazer in all likelihood.

Converting a 4wd to 2wd can be done in a weekend, and last time I looked they seemed to be cheaper too.

Re: Front End & Susp Swap

I did locate a front sheet metal assy for $500, condition unkn. I figure I could swap wheels/tires and susp. Perhaps make a few bucks.

The running gear, drive train is all good. Will need stock seats.

I don't know, perhaps you're right. It seems these trucks are getting more valuable every day. I haven't seen may SB Blazers for under 10K and 1st gens are 15-25K.

I wish I hadn't sold my 1st gen Blazer....

This is it... He's asking $6500. https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/...218685774.html

Anybody interested let me know. I'm going to pass.

The paint is now peeling. Clear coat malfunction or incompatible with color coat. He says it will pass smog.

Re: Front End & Susp Swap

You can find ones in good condition for the same money that won't need the same amount of work. Right now not many people are selling, and prices reflect it.

But deals still pop up. A guy on this board bought a dually for $300, and I almost got a truck for $400. Appartently it sold, and author doesn't know how to remove it. There a good base for $1000 that I want as it has almost everything I would want, but my cousin is giving me a Suburban roller for free. So I will just build something out of it, and go a bit wild.

I will say that for 6500. It is not a bad start. You could get maybe $1000 back on what I see.

It all depends on where you want to end up.

Personally. I almost got a OJ Bronco to convert to a Lightening Bronco that had the fiberglass body parts. It would of been a sweet wide body look too.
