Trying to Buckle Seatbelt...
How often do you go to buckle your seatbelt yet you don't have one?
I did again today.

Re: Trying to Buckle Seatbelt...
Never had that problem. I put 3 point belts in all my trucks.

Re: Trying to Buckle Seatbelt...
Me too. I'm always dumbfounded by those who upgrade their brakes and suspension in an effort to make the truck safer to drive but yet they have no seatbelts. I understand the idea of avoiding a crash with modern components, but I also firmly believe that a junkyard lap belt that I put in a 1953 International has already saved my life in 1986.

Re: Trying to Buckle Seatbelt...
On my list for my 65.
Still got non-power drums too. I did all that on my 66, but just haven't got around to it on my 65.

I didn't mean to sound like I was putting you down LM65. It's just that in my experience, seatbelts are important and provide the biggest bang for yer buck where personal safety is concerned.

Re: Trying to Buckle Seatbelt...
No seatbelt and a non-collapsible steering column combined with the way people drive these days is scary. I had a 2 ton truck do a Michigan stop ( rolling stop)in front of me and I couldn't avoid him. Plowed into him about 50 with driver side front corner in my 86 squarebody. Pretty sure I would have been into the windshield if not through it if hadn't been wearing my seatbelt. Firm believer ever since!

Re: Trying to Buckle Seatbelt...
I guess it would be an easy cheap upgrade to at least do lap belts.
. I do know that I want the 3 point eventually. - that's what I was grabbing for when I jumped into my 65 yesterday.

Re: Trying to Buckle Seatbelt...
Heck, even when I had the old lap belts in my 63, if I went a couple weeks without driving it, I would grab for the 3 point harness I never had in there
The lap belts in my truck when I bought it were from a 68 Cadillac. I think they were for the rear seat, but they fit my truck well
