Body modifications

Came across this picture the other day and quite like the idea. Has anyone done something similar on their trucks? Thinking I may try my hand at it, but wouldn't mind seeing the finished product if anyone else has already pulled it off.

Re: Body modifications

There was a guy I saw who on a square body rcsb lowered the front, and rear wheel well openings. He also narrowed the front track width so he could turn the truck laid out.

I can see where your going there, and it looks like a great idea from here. You would have to do something with the front to tie it together.

Re: Body modifications

57 Chevy might be easier, it's a flat panel without the crease above the wheelwell.

That or a 59. Only problem with the 57 idea is you have to pay that tri 5 tax for any panels. Original or repops. 59 it seems doesn't have an aftermarke panel just yet that I can find.

Re: Body modifications

I like it a lot but if you ever have to remove the rear wheel you better plan on removing the rear shocks springs and possibly drive shaft to get the rear down far enough to remove. If you have a wide tire that is. I would love to put that arch from a 57 on mine but I’m not that committed...

I'm already almost to that point with my current drop the question really is: how much more do I want to hate life to have a really cool truck?

Re: Body modifications

So...I found those panels....and I bought a set. Once I finish painting the cab I'm going to see how much trouble I can get into installing them in my bed.

Here's how the original picture mockup turned out. Not my truck, but one I follow. Definitely turned out pretty awesome!

Re: Body modifications

That's pretty cool. I didn't change the shape of the bedside opening on mine...just stretched it forward 3.5 inches to accommodate the taller tire and center the tire/wheel in the opening (kind of what that guy did by changing the shape of the opening) when lowered since the trailing arm suspension pulls the axle centerline forward.

Ive actually had my eye on your build for a good while. Love how the fenders turned out both front and rear.
