1972 Doors, How to tell?

I have a 70 Blazer and I believe someone if the past has put on 1972 doors.

How is the ways to tell?

I do have the Support screw under the Wing Window.

Is the door jam different where the Latch bolts in?

Thank you all.

If it has the screw under the wing window, it's a 72 door...

Re: 1972 Doors, How to tell?

There are 2 different versions of the vent window screw. 72 is a stamped recess in the door and the screw is recessed. 72 will also have plastic door panels that use longer shafts on the window & door cranks, unless someone put the 68-71 style cranks back in it.

70-71 just had a hole drilled in the door that had a hard plastic plug that sticks out higher than the plain of the door with a screw in the middle of it. they also have the shorter shafts since they use the metal door panels.

here is a pic of a 72 only. I could not locate one for the 71 that I had

Can you post photos of your doors? Do you have plates around the latches like shown on this borrowed photo?

Scroll down to Manage Attachments and click on that button. It will open a new window (you may have to enable popups). Click on Browse and find your selected file. Then click Upload. Repeat the process for additional pictures. Then close the window and submit your post.

If that is the case it should be a 70-71 door. If it is just an open hole, contact Wes at Classic Heartbeat. He had the plastic Ferrels reproduced and sells them very reasonable. Here is the link to them and he has his phone number in one of the posts.
