GMC Road Shock Damper RSD Photos

Since pictures of these are just as rare as the real thing, I snapped some photos before and after my disc brake conversion on the GMC Suburban Pickup this weekend. Enjoy!

These Road Shock Dampers were Standard equipment on all GMC Suburban pickups, and optional on all other GMC Pickups. They contain a sprung weight in the canister that counteracts the force of bumps in the road, creating a smoother ride.

Had some take a bit of material off of the caliper to clear the RSD's for the Disc Brake conversion

Yep It bolts on between the steering arm and spindle .

On smooth roads not so much but on rough or pot holed roads it sure does help smooth the ride out . Ask me how I know .

Looks good Dave .

I won't ever drive without em, so I guess we'll never know..and if they ever do come off, its because the entire front suspension was changed. That's nowhere even remotely in the near future, though.
