best lifters for 03?

got an 03 5.3 from a friend, that he took out of a vehicle, due to a noise he's pretty sure is lifter noise, so I want to put some new lifters in it before I drop it in something. best lifters to use, and best place to get them? thanks.

Re: best lifters for 03?

From what I've read and seen the LS7 lifters are the ones that most everyone recommends

Re: best lifters for 03?

Which ever lifter you chose buy new plastic lifter trays the genuine gm ones of better reviews on fitment on holding the lifter straight and not letting the lifter to turn to the side and eat the roller and cam lobe

Re: best lifters for 03?

When I went with my swap on the lifters I went with the GM ls7 brand and yes the new plastic trays. I don't remember the price difference but by the time you buy new gaskets and head bolts (since they are TTY or ARP brand) and all teh work it was worth it to do it as right as I thought I could.

Real GM LS7 lifters. I've used them with very good success on a few rebuilds.
