Engine swap question
Pulled the 292 out of my 80 gmc. Installing a 350. The driver's side motor mount (the piece the clam bolts to) has 2 sets of holes. The 292 was in the lower. Which ones should I go with?

Re: Engine swap question
Front sets, you want the mounts across from each other with the V8. I think that may however pull the trans forward though. I'm not to keen on the 292 placement

Re: Engine swap question
Ok, I'll move it where they are straight across, but there is a set of holes up and down on the driver's side. Looks like it will rock the motor if it's not Right. The 292 is worn out. This is a one ton dump truck and has always had a load behind her. It's been a rough 40 years on her

I did do an in-frame ring and bearing job on a 292 for someone about 40 years ago.

Re: Engine swap question
When I moved the passenger side pedistal back to line it up with the driver's side, it halfway off the k member. If I move the driver side forward, the bolts don't fit. Doesn't seem right to have to drill them out. Any ideas?

Re: Engine swap question
I think it is actually a different passenger side mount (stand) for the V8 vice 292. Not positive, but I remember folks talking about changing mounts (stands)when they went from 6 to 8
