Parts Places

Just thought I'd ask how many people lived close to a good old speed shop from back in the olden days. When I rebuilt my 292 a while back I needed pistons, rings, etc. Someone suggested I go to our local speed shop. I walked in and bought everything I needed right off the shelf. The guy who owns it is now in his eighties, told me he had buildings full of parts from buying out surplus over the years. Has over 50,000 pistons, has old carbs on the wall and you can just barely walk through the place. Was in there last week and walked by a NOS 292 block sitting there. Just was wondering how many people had access to places like this.
