Lower heater hose

I am running a Mishimoto radiator and a long water pump. The lower hose sits on a raised portion of the frame. If I had known this was going to be an issue I would have fixed the problem when everything was apart. Maybe this will save someone time before they have the same issue. Not sure why the frame has a lip at that spot, I don't see a need for it. Not a lot of pressure on the hose but my concern is engine tourque along with wear over time followed by a leak! The first picture shows the hose raised by a block of wood, the others where it would normally sit. The radiator outlet is angled up about 30 dgrees. Anyone had this issue? A hose with different bends maybe for a different application would do it. If any one has a solution or suggestions please let me know. Thanks in adavance!

That doesn't look like the right hose. It should bend up before it reaches the frame.

You could slit a length of small hose and slip it over the frame edge where the radiator hose touches. That would keep the hose from developing a rupture down the line.

Thanks BigBird you could be right the pump sits below the frame at the pump end is where it would need to bend upwards before turning to the radiator. Anyone got a part number or application that might work?

Thanks Barnfind, good thought if I can't find a hose with the correct bends I may have to go that route, too late to modify the frame.

Consider taking the hose to the auto parts store as you may be able to find one with a better fit. That's what I did for my LS1 conversion.
Maybe the 4X4 hose will fit better?

Thanks Accelo, I may have to do that hoping someone has had this issue and found the right hose and pass on the application use or part number.

Update. When I first noticed the problem, I thought it was the wrong hose or an issue with the V8 in the I6 position. I checked the part number and it came up as the correct one Gates 20694. Today a checked a few other sites and found 20694 was for an A/C truck, mine is not. Looks like the correct hose in Gates is a 20582, looking at pictures of the two the 20582 looks like it might work. Orded one should have by middle of next week, hopefully that will do it! Thanks to all that responded!
