66 C10 long bed 18" American Racing Wheels

Hello,
I have a 1966 C10 Long Bed Fleedside with the original 6 Lug Steel Wheels and 235/75 15 Tires. I have 4 Drum Brakes. Now I would like to change the Wheels.
The VN507 Rodder from American Racing in 8x18 and 4.5" Backspace are my favorite.
My plan is to use some Wheel Spacers / adapters (2") and Change the Wheels pattern from 6x5.5 to 5x4.75. The original steel Wheels have 3.5" Backspace. With the Spacers I have 5.5". The Tires a prefer are 235/45 R18 in the front and 275/45 R18 in the rear.
What are you thinking about my plan ? Have somebody do this before?

Thank you all verry much.

Greetings from Germany.

Nils

Hi, Nils I don't have the answer your looking for, your truck looks great with the poverty caps. Your going to feel the ride a bit more with Less tire height, some other caps would give you a different look. Just my 2 cents....Cheers....Ed.

You got your math wrong.
You don’t add the spacer width to your backspace, you subtract it.
Your originals at 3.5 bs with 2 inch spacer gives you a 1.5 bs.
Your intended new wheels with 4.5 bs and 2 inch spacer give you a 2.5 inch back space.
The wheel/tire will stick out further and interfere with the fender lips.
You need a rim with at least 6.5 inch back space.

Hi, thank you for your answer.
I dont unterstand that. My original Wheels are verry close do the inner Fenders.
If a put some 2" distance plates on it the wheel comes out in the
Direction to the outer fender lip. The original Wheel had now 2" more place to the inner Fender. If the original Wheels fits now perfekt to the inner Fenders I need now a Wheel with the same offset and front spacing. Only the Backspace is bigger.
It must not be a 18". If a 17" looks good it is okay for me.
I like this Look.
Have a great day.

If you can’t find that other one, try this.
Same idea.

Re: 66 C10 long bed 18" American Racing Wheels

Hello, I search for some alternate Wheels and found this Wheels from Fuel.
D68118908445. The Black and Bronze look ist great for my Black C10 with the Wood Bed. Is there a problem to drife this Off-Road Wheels with Street dimension Wheels like 275/40 R18 in the Rear and 245/45 R18 in the front ?
Someone drive this Wheels and have some pics for me ?

Thank you all verry much.

i have the same Wheels you showed originally but I converted to 5 lug with no spacers and went to 20". They look really good either way. I know this is not much help, but the rims are nice and I would go taller though.

Did you know you can find wheel visualizers.
Like this one.
You can pick your vehicle, it’s color and suspension height front and back.
You might not find exactly the wheel you want but could find something close.
