AC clutch wire harness
When I was replacing the AC compressor I noticed what appears to be a resistor jumper between the wires on the clutch wire harness. Do they all have this or was this a "special modification" made by a PO?

Re: AC clutch wire harness
might be a diode, to keep voltage from flowing back in the wrong direction?

Re: AC clutch wire harness
My '69 has one, and it's pretty crude. If I recall correctly it was just wrapped with electrical tape from the factory.

Re: AC clutch wire harness
Yes, it is a diode. It prevents the surge from inductive kickback from the clutch disengaging going back up the harness.

Re: AC clutch wire harness
Great, thank you for the confirmation. PO (my father-in-law) was an electronics technician decades ago and made several interesting "enhancements" to the truck that I'm still trying to decipher.
