Wet look truck
Finally, A wet 51 1-1/2 ton Chevy truck shouldn't be exciting but this is the first real day of rain we have had since April or earlier and that wet truck looks beautiful to me today.
As the rest of the members in Eastern Washington and Oregon can tell you we have been under a blanket of smoke from wild fires for almost two months an d this rain that is over most of Eastern Washington may help a lot. This may help me make some headway on the 48 as I haven't stayed outside very long at a time because of the high heat and then the smoke.

Yes the rain was nice, but I'm not ready for winter. It has been a busy summer and I still have a few more outside project to finish

Re: Wet look truck
I'd think that bit of rain was a big relief to folks in your area. From the what I have seen in a couple of your neighbors fB adds it looks pretty dry.

Re: Wet look truck
Glad to hear you folks are getting some relief. I keep hearing how bad it is from family. Seems the left coast is drying out while New England is getting wetter.
Wet truck is what convinced me to paint my truck an original color. Prior to that I was heading for a metallic blue. |

Re: Wet look truck
It's funny, that truck has blue on the firewall but no sign on the truck it's self in all of the wear through that it was ever blue. The story I got was that at one time in it's life it had been used to haul mail to post offices in Oregon.
My daughter wants to build it and put a hoist on it with a classy flatbed but I'm just shooting for the classy flatbed. I've got 77 Dualie running gear for it front and rear but the engine is still undecided. Probably a small block with automatic though. It has the best looking design for top of the fender Turn signals I have ever seen though. I bought that truck and this one That is the back side of the cab donor for my stretched (not extended) cab build for 100 dollars for the pair in 2010 when a guy in Patterson Wa advertised them on Craigslist for 100. The frame of the red truck probably had 800 lbs of steel welded to it for mounts for a tank and pumps and looked like they had changed and added several times without cutting anything off. The back of the cab is near perfect though.
