I have a 1970 C10. When the door is completely shut, the lock will not engage. When the door is partially shut, closed to the first click, the lock will work and lock the door. When the door is open, I can turn the gear by hand and the door will lock after the second click. I have oiled the latch but don't know what else to do. Any recommendations?

Are your door rubber seals new?

I just noticed you are from Cheraw. Do you know about the New Year's Day Cruise In at Smithfields BBQ? If the weather is good we will have 150 to 200 vehicles from North and South Carolina.

Hugh, did you ever figure out what was going on with your locks? I am having the same issues on my '67.

No. I just bought a new one and it worked.
