Dodged a close one.
Well my son wanted to drive my truck to work today so he can show it to the big boss because the big boss likes trucks. Has he turned the corner to work this happened. I'm just happy it didn't happen when he was doing 75 on the freeway.

Re: Dodged a close one.
Not really sure but it looks like there might be a slight defect in the casting of the spindle.

Re: Dodged a close one.
Nasty!
Is it an after market spindle or a stock one? Would be good to know so we can check. P.

Re: Dodged a close one.
It is an aftermarket. I don't remember what the brand was because I bought them 20 years ago. I will be ordering some CPP spindles from summit for it they are two and a half inch drop spindles

Re: Dodged a close one.
Seems to happen more often than one would think. I just Googled "broken Chevy spindle" and easily found similar cases. For example... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=553773

Re: Dodged a close one.
Well after looking at the link you put up and reading some posts it jarred my memory and these are AIM spindles. They are on the crap list. I will be getting some CPP drop spindles to replace them.
