Side marker LEDs

Has anyone replaced their front sidemarker bulbs with LED's?
I've swapped out my front blinkers and switched out my fuse panel flasher with a LL552 novita flasher so the blinkers WOULD flash. When I install the 194A Sylvania amber led's (I have clear sidemarker lenses), the bulbs either work with running lights, flip the polarity and they work as blinkers. But they do not work as both.
Anyone else have this issue or installed a different type of sidemarker LED?

thanks in advance
Happy New Year!
E

Re: Side marker LEDs

That's just how an led in that position works. It only has 2 wires. It would need 3 to work properly. The 3rd is a dedicated ground I can't explain it well but it's normal and that's how is sappose to be. An led is polarized and the original is not.

Re: Side marker LEDs

Thanks 71gmcC15,

I guess those will be staying as bulbs.

Re: Side marker LEDs

I bought some 194 type LEDs from Superbrightleds.com and they were not polarity sensitive. A link to the type I used: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...specifications

They have other types that are less directional. Double check the "Polarity Sensitive" listing in the specifications.

I used mine in an instrument cluster so the narrow beam angle was an advantage.
