non POS floor mats

Hello all,

Be shopping for floor mats and everything feels like the same rebranded cheap overly complex thing.

Just looking for a simple carpeted floor mat that is ~21ish wide. All I see is this silly drainage, cut to fit, foo foo.

I bought a set armor all today and did not realize that 19" would look lost in the front.

the pic is an old Kraco mat. very flexible rubber, lays very flat and is not more than ~1/4 thick. it has lasted 25 years or more. looking for something like it.

Re: non POS floor mats

Just as another option, if you can't find the carpeted ones...

I've bought 2 sets of these from Walmart for my C30 and K25 and have been very happy with them. They're the most simple, non-fancy-cut rubber floor mats I could find. Also, the rubber is pretty flexible/lax so they lay nicely on the floor, not stiff as a board like the weathertech deals and such.

Plain rectangular floor mats are hard/impossible to find now it seems, this is the closest I found that was still quality.

Re: non POS floor mats

I have a set of these obs floor mats in my 74, got them at a salvage yard for $2.
OEM quality, with a GM logo. They come in blue also along with maroon, and grey.
I had to trim the upper corner of the drivers side so it wouldn’t cover the dimmer switch.

Re: non POS floor mats

Found this one at the local Pull-a-Part a couple years ago. It was just laying out in the open. Guessing someone needed a sit down pad and used this. Didn't find a matching one in any of the nearby vehicles. Think they charged me the $1 misc part price. The middle parts are carpeted. Sized almost perfect for my 75 C10. Didn't see any mfg marks on the back. Only complaint is the back side is slick so it slides around a bit.

They’re from the 88-98 C/K trucks.

Re: non POS floor mats

Here is my solution for now.

In stock at Home Depot for 50 cent SF. the back is not rough so I am going to cut this new carpert and lay it over my old mats and in the cargo area.

It it holds up I might contact cement it to rubber in the future.

Re: non POS floor mats

I saw recently in another thread that Holley is making reproduction ones. Definitely not the lo-buck route though.

Yep, officially licensed. They're much nicer than I thought they'd be. I'd say as thick or thicker than the originals.

That's good to know. Now if they would only be priced about $104.99 less, then I would feel like they were priced right. In one of those flukey things of OEM pricing, I got some carpet floor mats for my OBS from ACC and they really didn't look or fit well. I happened to check at the dealership and got carpeted ones from GM for $25. Obviously, this was a while back. Probably right around the turn of the century, haha. It's cool that those are actual reproductions and officially licensed though, that is sure worth something.

Re: non POS floor mats

Here's a pic of them in my truck. These are the black, even though the sun and shadow makes them look grey. They fit really well (obviously). [I have a replacement steering wheel with the correct woodgrain insert - of which I need to paint because most of the woodgrain is worn.]

Re: non POS floor mats

I would love to find a floor mat that is wide enough that it extends to the door sill and under the accelerator. Wet feet don't magically not drip when getting in... or the water running towards the door and into the carpet...

Re: non POS floor mats

Some guy started making them like the factory, sold though holley. https://www.holley.com/products/interior/floor_mats/ when i was personally talking with him on his Facebook profile he mentioned EVERYthing is the same as originals except minor "updated" material changes since what they used back then didn't hold up very well from major use and wasn't the greatest anyway. Plus I think the Nubs on the backside are a bit different but otherwise for the price of $130. Extremely worth it.

I am contemplating doing i Sell the Blue Genuine (Rough) set i have and buy the aftermarket or stick to my plan and find Charcoal NOS... hmm
P.s Yes he is working on Caramine Red, Mahogany, and other colors. Just tough to find that color correct to make a mold from.

Kind of sounds like you might want to buy yourself a complete vinyl floor and cut it to the shape that you want, and use as floor mats. For that matter, you could get any kind of rubberized flooring or mat and just cut out the shape you want. Wouldn't have to start with something that was made for the truck. Because you don't really need it to be molded if it's not going over the transmission hump.

Re: non POS floor mats

Bought these mats from stockinteriors.com, 75-80 saddle color, $98 shipped.
Backside is black with little spikes to hold in place. I'm happy with them.

Re: non POS floor mats

Just received my reproduction oem 81-91 GM floor mats (grey) from Holley today. Compared to my original grey mats in my 1987 Sierra Classic (CA Sundancer), these floor mats are excellent quality and fit. Side by side you cannot tell the difference in material/cut/logo from the original, with the exception the repro has (12) additional oversize stubs and manufacture marking is on side. For the price I believe there worth the money if you want the correct mats for your 81-91 or want larger mats for your 73-80. A lot cheaper then used oem mats on ebay for several hundred dollars more, or NOS mats that are priced $500-$800 dollars. I'm so impressed with these mats I'm going to get a black set for my 74.

Look great, I might have to order a set of those.
