Hows your project going?

I finaly started to strip the paint now that I got my truck running. And the front axle is ready to put in. Things seem like they are taking forever and I gotta keep myself motivated. So hows your project going?

Working on the electrical now that the motor seems to be pretty tip top. Next week or two I will take it to the tranny shop for a tranny checkup and then the headers. After that I will start the "list" ex: get rid of rust...

I bought the truck in August. I tore it down to the frame right away. I have sandblasted, primed, and painted the frame. I have rebuilt the engine in the school shop.

Engine includes:

---1972 Chevy 350 2 Bolt Main---
-Bored to .030 over(355)
-Crane Energizer Cam & Lifter #100042
Adv Dur Int 266 Exh 266 Dur @ .050
Int 210 Exh 210 Deg Lobe Sep 110
Valve Lift Int .440 Exh .440
-Brass Frost Plugs
-Cloyes Double Roller 3 Key-way timing set
-FelPro Gaskets
-Clevite Bearings
-Hypereutectic Pistons
-Moly Rings
-Polished Crankshaft
-Chrome Valve Covers

Nothing fancy, but better than standard. The pic is when it was being assembled and I only had the block, crank, and pistons and rods in. It is completely assembled now, but I don't have a new pic yet. I plan to put it back in the frame with the Turbo 350 on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I have gotten pretty far on this project considering my age and budget...so far it's been a lot of fun.

How's my project going? Slow. My dad's shop still needs to be cleaned out so we can get things set up so I can start working on my truck. I need to find an engine! I'm gonna order reprints of the factory shop manuals and assembly manual for 1965 and get the 67-87 haynes repair manual for the 1977 part of the truck (frame). I hope it picks up soon!

HAHAHA Chevelle454!!!! That is the funniest pic in the world! A thread about how your project is coming, then a frame and bed with youth looking disgusted! Definitely made me laugh! I feel your pain. Someday I'll have it ready. I named the truck "Bones" for obvious reasons.....

I got the frame and axles powder coated, cab is done sitting waiting for paint. The axles are under the frame now, and I am saving for the new brake stuff, got the bearings. It is OK I have 13 years to go ! I should be able to get in and start the motor in like 2 years !

I guess this is the popular quote of the day/week/year...when it comes to our truck progress. Mine is not going anywhere fast, although I got a good buit of the body work done on the bed this past weekend.

This view is getting old. My wife, and I sometimes, wonder if the pieces will ever be back on!

Yesterday I finished bolting on my Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and 600cfm carb, Then the battery went dead so my dad (russTburb) took it to work with him today to charge it up and we may do some tuning on it tonight. In the next couple months I would like to try to get the patch panels in and get the interior put back together. I don't have any pics yet but I may get some soon. Here's one from last summer. I have front and rear chrome bumpers and different wheels on it now. Also in this pic it didn't have an engine so it's taller in the front than it is now
