The Ones That Got Away....

I just thought this might be a little fun...
.
Post about ones you wish you would have hooked.
.
Here is a thread of one that just had me drooling.
No pics, but just seeing the thread again made me think of this topic.

Re: The Ones That Got Away....

Back in 2011 before prices jumped I checked out this '66 that had been listed on craigslist. It had a 283 and was very original besides the bed floor and rally wheels. We haggled on the priced back and forth, he wouldn't come down any lower than $4,000. I had offered $3500 because it had plywood in the bed instead of the correct boards and strips. I walked away but after talking it over with dad later that night I figured another $500 wouldn't kill me if it was going to be a long term keeper. I called first thing the next morning and told him I'd take it and could be there with cash in 30 minutes, but he said a guy from NC was already on his way to pick it up.

Re: The Ones That Got Away....

So many of those... Once, a nice original local survivor that I had been after for years was donated to charity by the son of the original owner who had suddenly passed. I guess the kid never looked through the pile of "Let me know when you're ready to sell" notes that I had left for his dad.
