Front Crossmember Swap

Swapping 4wd k5 to 2wd.

Full Parts 88 suburban, 2wd.

Moved front crossmember over, and got it lined up in the rear bottom hole (where the k5 brake line used to go through) wheels look centered also.

The engine perch when set on the bottom of the subframe is about 1inch too high on the frame rails? What should I be doing here? Going to be dropping in a 5.3/4l60e. Have the square body swap mounts and new clamshells.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Front Crossmember Swap

Greetings from Eau Claire. I've moved this thread to the general Blazer/Jimmy board for more eye balls.

Re: Front Crossmember Swap

I test fit the 5.3 I'm just going to cut them down and weld some plate across the top for more support. The height doesn't seem to be necessary for anything, except the taller frame rails from the 88. Wheels are centered, and motor is sitting in a decent spot.

Small problems, small solutions, tons of work time.
