Where to get WC 4/6?
This is obviously my first post here, so i'll give a little introduction.
I'm 21, from Kentucky, and have been a life long Chevy fan. My daily driver is a 97 Z-71, and i just bought an 84 2wd swb to modify a bit. Introduction aside, where can i buy the Western Chassis 4/6 online? |

I think they have you covered on where to get your drop parts. If you haven't already, check the 73-87 parts forum here. Here's a thread on some stuff for sale-For Sale

thanks for the link Ken.
SixthFloorFreak, the only thing i have left for the drop is a set of shocks. they are Doetsch Tech Nitro Slammers, and they are for a 5/7 drop, but i'm not sure why they wouldnt work on your 4/6. as for where to buy stuff, check out www.macsspring.com Last edited by 1FaastC10; 01-01-2004 at 04:34 PM. |

Saw these lowering springs on Ebay. You can add these to a 2" drop spindle up front and get a 4" drop up front. You may also consider DJM drop components too. Summit catalog has their stuff. Get a flip kit to lower it 5" and either a 1 " lowering block or use a 2" drop hanger, will get you the 6 inch drop in the rear.

Here's a comprehensive list on lowering components for our C10's. It's all from SummitRacing.com (I even included part #'s for everyone) It's one of the cheapest places to get parts, if not THE cheapest. (And with LIGHTNING fast cheap shipping too!)
IMHO, I think you should go this route... Front: -3" DJM Drop Spindles (Part #DJM-DS2045H-3 for 1¼" Brake Rotors, Part #DJM-DS2045L-3 for 1") $219 or $259 -2" Summit Drop Springs (Same thing as Bell Tech's just different color; Part #SUM-G727) $87 -Doetsch Tech Nitro Slammer Shocks (Part #DOE-4052G) $44 each (Need two) Rear: -5" DJM Flip Kit (Part #DJM-FK1024-5) $89 -2" Summit Shackles (Same thing as Bell Tech's just different name; Part #SUM-G756) $46 -Doetsch Tech Nitro Slammer Shocks (Part #DOE-4095G) $36 each (Need two) Also, you will need to order This C-Notch ($45) There's the cheapest, best quality, lowering kit for our trucks. It's all a very easy install. The hardest part will be removing the rear bumpstop and C-notching the rear. Also, if you run stock 15" rims, you will need to grind the A-arm a TAD for the 15's to clear (although if you upgrade to 17's or better, you won't have to worry) Also, The MAX tire overall diameter you'll be able to run is 27". that 5/7 seems real appealing, just afraid i won't be able to find an affordable set of tires. guess i'll have to search around. you guys can help if you feel so inclined. i'll be running 18 and 20's, and i want a nice fat tire in the back
just looked on Mac's Spring, and the Western Chassis 5/7 is $657.95, with free shipping i believe. would the kit you listed be higher quality or anything. i added it up, and got $687 for it. http://www.macsspring.com/Merchant2/...Code=81C10-5-7 Last edited by SixthFloorFreak; 01-07-2004 at 09:05 PM. |

how does a 295/40-20 and a 245/45-18 sound?
they would Goodyear Eagle RS-A, as i've had good luck out of my Eagle LS's in 20 inch size on Z-71 |

That works pretty good for a daily grinder. If it's more just for weekends/special occasions, get some 20's for the front.
