Wheel and tire selection
Hey fellas, im having a hell of a time trying to figure out what i can fit under my stepside. I am looking at 16 inch wheels (for disc brake clearence in the future), i want to run a 9-10 inch wide wheel with maybe a -19 offset. more if i can. i measured off the mounting face for the wheel (off the brake drum) and came up with 6 inches before my fender wouldnt clear. so im wondering if my math is right on this... 10 inch rim with 0 offset would be 5 inches, plus a -19mm offset would be roughly 5.75 inches. does my math work? i really dont want to pull the trigger on this and be wrong. these are online orders.

Your math’s good but only one problem.
A 10 inch rim is actually 11 inches wide. The rest of your numbers are askew because of that. Have you seen this link. It’ll help you fit the right sizes. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/cc...heels-fitment/ |

The needs & dimensions will change once those "future disc brakes" come into the equation. Disc brakes increase the track width vs the drum brake track width.

Unfortunately they don’t have one for a 6 bolt hub.

Piece of plywood, drill + bits, hole saw, & 2pcs of ~3/6 x 6" all thread will do the same thing if you like the reassurance of using something like that.
I have a couple of angle steel pieces from the hardware store (just like the article linked by Geezer#99). One is for 5x4.75 car pattern; the other is 5x5 truck. Same principle as the plywood set-up I suggested though. I use them or a wheel that fits & do the math from that. It's easy enough to do the measurements from there.

Scotti has a great setup there…will get you in the ballpark for sure, having changed my setup to 5 lug, I spaced it on being for 6…..
