Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
Contact Wes at Classic Heartbeat. He was getting a correct US made repro from a family run operation. The more widely available repro pieces look awful imo.

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
I have a bunch of it laying around because it didn't fit. I used the "stick on" cab sound insulation. Likely not as effective for heat as the factory stuff. But at least I could cut it and it fit.

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
Order from Wes if possible..I think he sells the best USA made pad...
The Jegs/repops numbers are CT1190 for ds , CT121 for 71&72 center and CT120 for 67-70 |

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
What was the total cost? How many pieces is it? AC or without AC?

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
How close is the quality of the repops to that of the original pads? Could you show any comparison or installed pics? Thanks.

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
Does anyone make them for factory air condition? I can find the passenger side without ac but no luck for the ac truck

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
^^^I don't believe there is a mat for passenger AC trucks, thats why they can't be found. I seem to remember coming to that conclusion a few months ago when I looked.

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
Thanks Larry, looks like nice stuff. Would you say the quality & fit is on par with the OEM stuff?

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
I was very happy. I used original retainers.

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
Has anyone used dynomat and then tried installing the pads as well? Do they fit and stay where they need to?
Thanks!

Re: Firewall insulation that actually fits
I used sound deadener on my fire wall and covered that with a pad from GMC Pauls. It worked like I expected, very well. I opted to to use SS button head bolts to secure the pad, but that was just for a fancier look from the engine bay. The OEM retainers would work fine to. They have more than enough reach to accommodate the extra thickness of the sound deadener and then some.
