Some Cab Questions

Have my cab tore down, getting ready for blasting, or maybe chemical stripping with e-coat. A couple things I am unsure about;

1, Are these small knobs in the floor to line up a rubber floor mat? There are 3 on each side of the hump I think. I plan on grinding them down if there is no reason to keep them, I'll be putting carpet.

2, Have the corners of my floor been patched? Would these be factory? Similar on each side.

3, I have 8 screws going through the floor under the driver seat area. Odd pattern, I cannot figure what they ever would have been for. I plan on welding them up.

4, Before I try to clean the paint off. Is this some kind of data plate? I couldn't see through the paint in person, only noticed it in the photo.

5, This forward portion of my tunnel cover is welded in place. There seem to be holes where it's welded, as though it was once bolted like the rear section. Factory? I think I'll dill some holes and remove the welds. Might be some nice access some day.

I believe so. I left mine in case I change my mind later in what I'm doing. I'm doing carpet.

Yes. Common area.

3, I have 8 screws going through the floor under the driver seat area.

They hold the tire iron and jack lever via a spring and/or clip. I removed all my hardware and have them in a labelled bag in case I change my mind with what I am doing.

4, Before I try to clean the paint off. Is this some kind of data plate?

Yes.

5, This forward portion of my tunnel cover is welded in place.

The high hump was originally spot-welded in place, there should be no holes. I think the holes are the welds were drilled out and it was converted to a high hump

As far as the data plate, that's going to likely be fun to try and clean up. I'd drill out the rivets and let it soak for a while (like days) in soapy water. Hopefully the paint used will soften up and you can slide it off with a fingernail. There are probably dozens of recommendations but if water doesn't work I'd start with mild paint removers like acetone... you're trying to take the silver off and leave the green. I want to kick guys in the nuts who are too lazy to take the time to mask these things off... it'd take about two minutes to mask this off.

So true!! It should look something like this (only not sideways) before it was painted over by an ogre with a spray gun

I've got the data plate soaking, we'll see in a couple days.

Looks like I have a bolt in low hump. Apparently a 63 item (mine is a 63).
May have been a tall hump originally
I'm going to drill the welds out and bolt the front section in.

Any thoughts on this hole, rear of passenger floor, near the tunnel.
