Tail light gaskets
Anyone know where to buy decent gaskets for 72 c10 tail lights and backup lights? The gaskets from LMC are paper thin and useless. The originals were 3 times thicker, but of course destroyed when removing the lenses.

Re: Tail light gaskets
I ran into the same issue. The little spacer studs on the back of the lens would bottom out before the gaskets touched. I did find another vendor that fit correctly. I ordered them from UNITED PACIFIC INDUSTRIES INC. (upcarparts.com) Not my usual vendor but they had the gaskets for $3.09 each in Apr of 2021. $3.79 today.
Search for the 110215 part number. Their search function isn't very well designed. Cheers Last edited by Accelo; 01-14-2023 at 04:59 PM. |

Re: Tail light gaskets
Thanks I see them. Ordered a set from Holley on Ebay. 2 Holley hits on the same gasket. Both 3.95, but one is free shipping and the other is 10.50 shipping. I somehow ended up with 4 LMC versions. I may have to double them. Wonder why they put the nubs on the lenses? They would fit flush and seat with any gasket if they weren't there?

Re: Tail light gaskets
Thanks Grumpy. These look nice and thick. I'll save to my favorites in case the ones I ordered from ebay turn out to be junk.

Re: Tail light gaskets
The nubs were there so you wouldn't over-tighten the lens and crack it.
The ones Grumpy pointed out are made in the USA! |

Re: Tail light gaskets
I second the United Pacific gaskets; they are much better than LMC. Grumpy's option looks good too. Here's a comparison of LMC (left) and UPI (right).

Re: Tail light gaskets
Well the gaskets I ordered on Ebay came from Holley. Just as thin and deformed as LMC. I tried 2 gaskets and they're still not enough. Will order from vendor Grumpy suggests.
Checked with Grumpy"s suggestion. 1/16 thick. Last edited by howzzzit; 01-21-2023 at 03:02 PM. |

Ended up with gaskets from United. They are 3/16 thick. Very nice.
