15x10 K10 Backspacing??
Hello all based on recommendations from the forum here a week or two ago I got jegs rally style 15 by tens with a backspacing of 4.25 testing them on for fit they seem like they jut out much much farther than normal input?
Pictures? I’m trying to upload my own but having Internet difficulty currently Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 15x10 K10 Backspacing??
Hey Matt, I decided this thread would be a good place to put pictures of different wheel/tire/lift combinations that we talked about in PM.
First two, the white '72 K2500 with 10" (9.75") wheels, 33/12.50s, and no lift. Next two are with 8.25" wheels with same tires and no lift. Last one is 9.75" wheels, 35/12.50s, and 4" lift

Re: 15x10 K10 Backspacing??
First two pictures are 255/85-16s, 7" Ford steelies, and 4" lift. Going back to the last post the one picture shows the blue & white Chevy with add-a-leaf (about 2") and 285/75-16s on 8" wheels.
Next two are 285/75-16s on 8" wheels with 4" lift. I hope seeing this variety can help your decision on wheel width. i'm not sure what the backspacing is on any of the wheels, but the old 16.5s seemed to have a good bit of backspace, like about 5"(?). 4" is about the average I'm used to seeing on 15s and 16s for these trucks

Re: 15x10 K10 Backspacing??
So helpful as always, such neat trucks with different setups through the years. I love the ladder rack. Photo with the car dolly and the 3rd photo in the 2nd post has me leaning the most back to trading the 10s I have for 8s. Blue truck is real handsome too!
Here is a picture of my truck last night on what I discovered are 15x6!! 3 inch back spacing. I like the look but the contact patch is terrible and turns feeling like driving on a water bed! I think 8s will be great! 4" bs so it'll be about the same look as now just the rim surface will go both inward and outward an 1" sounds good! |

Now I see why you asked about the chalk mark method. Tires are a bit "pinched" on those wheels. I like the current set-up on the GMC, 285/75s on 8" wheels (Wheel Vintiques)
Here's more of the same set-up

Re: 15x10 K10 Backspacing??
And since you said you liked the blue & white one, here is how it ended up looking. I went for a look that says "been that way a long time"
I wanted to see how it would look with more white

What cool trucks huh? Man each version is just out of sight. The blue truck is radical, the GMC with the steelies and the cap speaks to me.

Re: 15x10 K10 Backspacing??
Thanks. Sure wish I could have kept them all. I still have bits & pieces to build one from scrap some day
