67 Door rebuild list?

I'm tired of my windows rattling around and I think it's time to start tackling them. what would be a good list to completely rebuild everything inside the door? I already have new hinge pins and weather strip for the outside stuff. truck is a 67 suburban. thanks in advance

Re: 67 Door rebuild list?

I don't have a list from when I did mine but, I ordered all the soft parts for the windows. Wing, roll up and fixed. At the time LMC had a good picture of the door parts in their catalog that I used for reference.

The only rubber that I couldn't get was for the fixed glass in the rear doors but I understand that the correct ones are available now. (Long story in the link if you're bored at work ) I was able to reuse old fixed rear door glass seals (Thanks once again to Richard2717 ) after soaking them in water with a lot of Dawn dish soap for a week. Daily scrubbings with a brush during the week helped to clean them up too.

The link goes to my posts on the rear door glass stuff there is information scattered on it and the following 2 pages.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=698377&page=2

After removing the regulators I found that shaft on the drivers side one had very worn bushings and the rollers were in bad shape so I replaced both front seat regulators.

There are no reproduction regulators for the rear side windows so I replaced the nylon rollers. (Pretty easy but, it's a two person job.) Then cleaned and lubed them up.

I'm sure there's more that I'll remember 37 hours from now when I'm trying to do something else.

Re: 67 Door rebuild list?

ya I'll have to go through each door...few of the work great but still need the stuff to keep the windows from moving. hell my front door uses some channel locks as a window crank and it still hard to roll lol. I think the actual door mechanism stuff is fine, it's mostly related to the windows. my fixed windows are great too, but they have got paint on the. over the years....will have to take another look at those

I probably wouldn't have gone through the trouble of removing the fixed door windows but for some reason one end of the bottom of both seals had deformed and pushed down into the door. They were basically funnels directing water inside the doors. That had to be remedied.

ill look into them, i know they have good products. i used them for my front windshield and big side quarter glass.

that link above is great. i think the hardest part is just finding a good diagram that shows all the components inside there and what would be needed if i had to replace something. LMC does show pretty good diagrams but their quality is...well, yall know how it can be sometimes buying from them lol

Likely I will want to do my doors sooner than later as well. If you are able to get a list together maybe you could share here for future reference.

for sure, I'll probably be tearing them down one at a time and only order what's needed but I should have an idea what all would be needed!

Re: 67 Door rebuild list?

I bought the "Door Window Felt Kit" from the Truck Shop. (I am in NC so I went to the store but they ship too. www.truckandcarshop.com) The felt kit included upper door glass channels, anti-rattle window seals, and universal division bar inserts. This solved my window rattle problems.

I looked them up and they do offer the kits for a suburban. One kit for the front ($115) and another kit for the rear ($95).
