Turn signal switch w/ bulb.
Why is it that most new ones come w/o the shift indicator buld? I purchased a new turn signal switch assembly, pulled out the old one, just to find out it has a bulb and socket. I could move the old bulb and socket to the new assembly, but the socket is damaged ☹️. I can see the hole where the bulb would sit in the steering column area. All the auto parts stores come w/o the bulb and socket. I found only one aftermarket retailer sells one with the bulb. So why do majority come w/o the bulb/socket?

Re: Turn signal switch w/ bulb.
If your column has a bulb it would be a tilt column and you would have to order a turn signal harness for a tilt column. non tilt columns use a fiber optic to send light from a bulb that is located in the back of the instrument cluster.
