Original Shocks?
What color and brand were the original shocks and what did they look like on a 1/2 ton 4x4?

Re: Original Shocks?
What year? My 68 truck had spiral shocks on it, probably from the factory. I have some NOS shocks. They are grey.

Re: Original Shocks?
I know my 67 2wd half ton has the spiral shocks but does not have the hd shocks. The hd shocks were grey as well but were not spiral. I would think 4x4 would have hd shocks but not sure.

Original shocks, regardless of 2WD or 4WD were grey spirals. They were made by Delco.

I'm sure for a pampered garage kept collector vehicle, the base shocks will suffice. If your SPID calls out the HD shock option, I would look for those. It won't be easy to make a complete set. Some guys use the Delco Pleasurizers, which were a factory replacement shock. Seems to be more of them out there.

Re: Original Shocks?
Pleasurizer shocks appear gold. The others look black not gray.
