K5 Blazer build with SWB C10 frame

Hello to all. Like the title says, I am building a K5 Blazer using a C10 SWB frame and a repop blazer tub. I am seeking information. If anybody has any info on this subject please share. I started a thread to share with other enthusiasts that may want to attempt what I am doing. I would like some frame measurements, from mount to mount (6), to compare with the SWB c10, blazer frame. I visited Dino’s Git Down and saw a few blazer tubs. My c10 SWB frame, 11 inches removed, measurements and the repop k5 tub seems to be off. Any help would be appreciated. I’m trying to get the math right before I order the tub.

Re: K5 Blazer build with SWB C10 frame

I've done the same thing, been working on it 10 yrs in my spare time, bout finished, actually down to installing interior and audio. It's a roaster, no top, built the bed sides up to match the doors, welded the tailgate shut. I step cut the frame and I think I cut 11 1/2 inches out of the frame, removed to body mounts from the 4x4 blazer frame then sold that frame.

Re: K5 Blazer build with SWB C10 frame

Good night @Big Orange. Thanks for the response. I have the c10, SWB, and basically I have made it a roller without the tires. I want to order K5 Blazer tub but I want to ensure this frame is correct. How did you set up the tub/chassis frame mounts? I know the first mounts on the frame will be my starting point. Give me brief explanation please. Thanks in advance. I can pm you my number and we can go from there.

I did a little research and found a set of K5 Blazer dimensions. I checked some of the specs and I think I am ready to order a K5 Blazer tub. All of the measurements appear to be within the guidelines. Converting fractions to decimals has always been challenging. I feel that once the Blazer tub arrives I will be alble to fasten the tub to the chassis.

Ok glad you found that. I started taking some measurements on my frame but it was hard getting exact measurements with the floor and tub back on the frame.

What are the Blazer Tub measurements from mount to mount. For instance, the first tub mount to the second mount? The second Tub mount to the third Tub mount, and son on? I'm curious about this information.

Let me try and get you this information. I need to clean out from under my Blazer, and find a plumb Bob. So hopefully tomorrow I can post it.

Re: K5 Blazer build with SWB C10 frame

Thanks for your assistance. Check your DM. Did grab these measurements from the cab or frame. Also, In comparison these measurements, are close to the measurements I grabbed from a K5 Blazer Tub at Dino’s Git Down. But when I compare these measurements to above drawing I posted. I am spot on. Very interesting. I might have omit the last frame mount and not attache it to the frame. Instead (5) frame/Tub mounts I will have (4).

Re: K5 Blazer build with SWB C10 frame

I checked my notes:
Tub mount #1 to #2 = 38 1/2 inches
Tub mount #2 to #3 = 14 1/4 inches
Tub mount #3 to #4 = 47 inches
Tub mount #4 to #5 = 14 inches
FYI: Tub #2 rises up 5 1/2 inches.

Very interesting Tub mounts #2 to #3 may give me the difference I need to attach as the mounts. Also my measurements could be off.

Re: K5 Blazer build with SWB C10 frame

My Blazer is together, so I had to measure off the body mount bolts.

Re: K5 Blazer build with SWB C10 frame

@litebulblsc, the measurements are perfect. Everything thing lines up. The first blazer tub mount and the last blazer tub mount are spot on. Blazer tub mounts #2, #3, and #4 will need to be fabricated. Thanks.

Pic. I used a K5 Blazer frame stiffener, along with the trailing arms to properly place the rear differential in the right location. This thread was created to help those searching for information.
