00' Mercury mystique code PO340 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

my gf's car has a code PO340 which is the camshaft position sensor, which has gona completly out and i dont know here this sensor is. can anybody help me out on this? its a 2.0 4cyl. i need to have it fixed by friday evening and i dont know where it is. any help is apreciated

is it the DOHC Zetec 2.0 L engine?

hell i guess but i went down to the ford lot. and asked a guy where it was, they had some pretty nice chevys for a ford lot lol

ok im still gettin the code and i run the scanner while its running and it says camshaft position sensor circut malfunction. also the engine doesnt turn over now which is great so anybody know of anything that it could be? any body know a dreaded F*rd message board for mystiques?

Join Date: Nov 2002 Location: Grace, Idaho Posts: 69	is it the DOHC Zetec 2.0 L engine? __________________ 1971 chevy c10 lwb- 300 hp 350 crate motor, soon to be more with ported and polished 62cc chamber 461 double humps, TH400, 3.73 posi, used to be my uncle's truck 1972 chevy k10 lwb- 350,4 spd, old and tired, dad bought brand new and is now mine 1968 chevy c20 lwb- 327, 4 spd, was originally a 50th anniversary truck 1990 GMC K1500-just my runaround truck 1982 Chevy K10 shortbed, new motor and new paint, another project in the mix of the others. IMPORTS SUCK!
