Finally got it!!!
They finally sent me my sticker for my vintage tag!! I don't know if they do it in all states or not but here in Oklahoma if you have a vintage tag for your vehicle you can call the tag agency and they will let you know if anyone is using that tag and if not you can pay $13 and fill out a form to have that tag reinstated for your vehicle! I had found a 1971 tag at the swap meet in Chickasha last fall. They send you a sticker to put on your windshield every year to renew it. I though it was pretty cool. By the way if anyone has a vintage Arizona 1971 tag let me know i would like to have one since my father bought it new there and it has spent all its life except the last 2 years there. Sorry for the long post guys just excited!

Nevada will allow you to do the same thing. I have a nice set of '69 plates that I'm gonna use. You are required to have a current decal displayed on it though. The set that I have were last current in 1971.

I've got a stack of Texas truck plates (69-72). If anyone has a 67 (Texas) set and wants to trade?

I have a "NOS" 1972, Kansas truck license plate. Any ideas who I would contact to inquire about using it? The county courthouse? It isn't for my county. I wonder if that makes any difference?

I bought a brand new set of 1967 truck plates from a guy at the Arlington swap meet last year. I plan to register them soon.

Terry,
I would try your state department of motor vehicles. I would guess each state has their own set of regulations, since the states are in charge of licensing. In Texas, it is fairly easy. You have to get the plates inspected (to insure correct color for year and condition) at your local tax assessor and then send a form to Austin. They return a form that you take back to the local tax assessor to get the sticker. In Texas, you can also register as an antique (25 years or older) and this eliminates the annual inspection requirement. It also limits how much and where you can drive the vehicle. Good Luck!

Terry, I've also got a plate for my '71 that is not from my county...I talked to a lady at the courthouse here (Douglas)awhile back...she told me I couldn't use it until the vehicle is 35 years old, don't think the county matters. So, looks like I have to wait a couple more years...
