Did anyone paint their spindles?

I just got new drop spindles and I want them to stay purty .....

Did you prime and paint them?
What did you use?
If I dont paint them, are they going to rust?
Should I just put some clear on them?

I hit mine with some clear, but I don't think it will last...
It's tough to put on something so nice, and know it's gonna surface rust!!
Let us know what you do.

Mine will be powdercoated when I finally get off my butt and drag my frame, suspension, crossmembers, etc. down to the powdercoaters.

I just sprayed my spindels with clear and the truck has not seen the road yet and the surface rust has already srarted. I am going to prime and paint them some time this month.

Powdercoat them, I sprayed clear on my new spindles and they rusted, just sitting in the garage.

I would Powdercoat them in clear or cast iron looking grey.
