WANTED: '61 GMC 4000 Series Ball Joints

I am looking for replacement Upper and Lower ball joints for a 1961 GMC 4000 series 2.5 ton conventional cab truck.

3500 series ball joints are NOT the same part.

I might consider used, but since this part wears prematurely in the heavy trucks, most used are "used up"! The correct front suspension has a "5" cast into the upper control arm for 5000 lbs capacity (2.5 ton).

Thanks,

dch

Related to this thread... Has anyone ever had ball joints made from scratch? If so, I would like hearing your feedback: Did the parts work correctly? Did they hold up (durabililty)? Did the suspension operate correctly? Was the cost reasonable? Were all the pieces made from scratch or were some of them stock items (like the ball stud)? What material were the pieces machined from?

Thanks,

-dch
