I usually rent one here in town at the local rental yard.
If you pick it up sat and return on monday you only pay for 1 day rental I think it is like 20 bucks.
I do beleive that you can do a half day or 4 hours also if you are fast.
The local rental places have some top notch hoists in my area.
The last one I rented I had to supply the small chain to bolt to the engine to attach the lift hook to though.

I think your over in N.Garland correct? Taylor Rental off of Beltline Rd. (between Shiloh & Jupiter)has one that you can tow behind a car/truck which makes picking it up easier.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

The last time I used one from them was several yrs ago but it was around $30 day. That's not too bad considering you don't have to put it together. It has a coupler built in & trailer wheels so you just flip it & hook it up to your hitch.

Northern Tool used to have a lay-a-way plan for purchases. That might be worth checking into 'cause when you pull a motor..... sooner or later you get to put it back in.

haha, when i read your first post SCOTI i thought you said it was on N. Garland Rd. between jupiter and Shiloh. I thought for a good 20 minutes trying to figure out when NG RD EVER crosses shiloh or jupiter...lol. then i thought maybe he's talking about arapho. NO that's where i live, and i KNOW there's not one there. re read it and it makes ALOT more since. I'll check into that. thanks a lot guys
