Rear window crank problems

Hello, I am attempting to fix my manual rear window winder. Last week it stopped raising and lowering the window. It broke on the inside. It just spins. I purchased a new one and installed it. I am positive it is in the same way the old one was, and all this one does is spin. I also need to change the lock cylinder. These things cannot be that difficult! I have knocked my head against the wall for hours attempting to figure this out. Can anyone help me out?

Check through the complete assembly. Man!!! Just be careful though. The regulator can cut your fingers off. This is one scary machine.
I can't help you as mine is the power unit but I have included an exploded view of the complete assembly. If the picture doesn't make it let me know and I will e-mail it to you.

You may want to keep in mind that if the lock in the handle is locked, all the handle will do is spin and not crank the window up or down. Seeing as you said you have not changed the lock cylinder, this may be your problem.

I've just rebuilt a manual regulator for my 75 Blazer and unless the ears were broke off the regulator where the handle mates too, there is not much else to look at except in the handle/crank assembly.
