Who has a Ford 9" under truck
I am going to put one in my truck. Was wondering just how you guys did yours? I have never done a conversion like this before. I tell you what I am think. I am going to find one that measures close to mine in length. Then once I get it, measure where my brackets are at on mine. Then cut them off mine, weld them on to the 9" is this the route you went when you set your up?

I'm putting an Explorer 8.8 with rear disc on mine. I originally started looking for a 9" but I came across this brand new 8.8 with 3.73's and disc brakes for around 800.00 so I'm going to try it. I think your rear should be about 58" flange to flange so you'll need to find one from a 77-81 Versailles/Granada (58"-58.5"), 66-77 Bronco (58"), or 73-90 F100/F150 (58 3/4"). It's going to be hard to find a narrower 9". I also want to mini tub my truck so going with the 8.8 gave me about three more inches (narrower). Keep in ming all 8.8/9 rear ends are going to have the driveshaft at an angle slightly to the right side as they are all offset that way (about an 1-1 3/4 if I remember right). Only way around that is aftermarket built to your specs. I have a trailing arm set up so I got new brackets from here at the advice of another board member.
