Blazer frame/ TRUCK body???
my friend has a rusty 73 Blazer, which runs good, but the body is shot...and he wants a shortbox trick anyway...sooo...
will a 73 Blazer frame work with a 73-87 shortbox truck body? or is it better off to just sell the blazer and look for a truck? thanks, zach |

its a 73 4x4...and he needs a body, the frame and drivetrain is good he just put a 4" skyjacker softride? lift in and mud trac 33x12.50's and rancho 5000 shocks, and the motor/trans transfer case ar all good. so he want to keep the frame and drivetrain and just get a truck body, or a nice 73-75 blazer body
OR will a 67-72 swb body fit on it? or a 69-72 blazer body??? basicly wanting to know what bodies will fit on it. |

The Blazer is shorter than the SWB body. The only thing that will fit without some fabrication is a Blazer/Jimmy body. Those bodies and frames differ after 75 as well.

You can put the cab on there, but you won't get the bed on there. Blazer/Jimmy's are shorter and the frame (as said above) are completely different.

I have seen many conversions, there was a Thread the other day actually. A Truck body on a Blazer Frame.

Blazer to Pick-up
73 + PU to fit on Blazer Frame. You will have to make a new rear cab mounting bracket. Shorten the front sides of a short box @ 10 Inches, the back sides are the same. Make new front frame mounting brackets for the box. These should be the major modifications to be done.
I am still working on mine. The frame is a 79 4x4 Blazer. The PU body is 81. You can check out my conversion at my homepage in the profile. Hope this helps

Here's how a shortened 67-72 bed would look on a '73 and up Blazer frame.
