brake keeps blowing
ok today was the second time the front left brake cylinder on my truck has blown, why does it keep doing this, i have adjusted it and double and triple checked everything, so what can this be.
it is blowing only one boot off of the cylinder inside the drum and making a huge mess everywhere.

drum
Is your drum worn overisized? I had that happen. THe drum was worn beyond it's limit and the brake would open all the way leading to the cylinder popping that little metal thing out! It sucked especially when you have to drop gear to slow it down!

Are the shoes in good shape? Is the drum worn out? Are the shoes adjusted right?... these are the three things that will cause a cylinder piston to "hyper-extend" and blow out the seal. Adjust (with good shoes) the star wheel untill the shoes just BARELY start to drag...they will tighten up to where they should be after you do a few stops in reverse.
