Difference between 63 and 64 Front Suspensions???
I've been looking at aftermarket spindles and front suspension parts and they list most parts as mostly 63-72?? Why is this?? Is the 60-62 front suspension different?? Could you bolt in a cross member from a 71-87 chev truck??
Sorry for the stupid questions, I'm a former Mustang guy and I'm just getting started in these old trucks. Thanks. |

if your truck is a 63 or later the later crossmember will bolt in,ten bolts line up,four have to be slotted.use the steering that goes with the crossmember.you will have to drill new holes for the idler arm.make a template from the doner truck.

I'm thinking of buying a 62 s/b stepside. I want to get rid of the stock suspension and update it with something newer(73-87??)Can this be done?? Has anyone done it?? I have only seen pics of the 62 as its 400km away so I haven't seen the susp in person. I don't want to drive for a day to look at a truck that isn't capable of doing what I want.
Thanks |
