Re: I would like to hear your opinion about painting my truck.

also, gm has a really nice blue, I think its called arrival blue, it was on the chevy cobalt cars a few years ago, I painted my vette that color, it was a smaller car so it fit very well. Its a darker blue with a ton of metallic and pearl in it. but not as navy looking as indigo blue

what ever color you pic will be great, but just try to match them.... the darker the blue, the darker the silver. you don't want it to contrast to bad... and make sure that the metallic matches.

I am not sure yet if I am painting it blue top and bottom with the gray in the middle or blue on top and gray on bottom. I have a little time to figure that out yet. When I looked at the paint cards at the bodyshop it said it was pearl and not metallic. He is going to mix a little bit up and paint both colors on something to see how I like it first.

Re: I would like to hear your opinion about painting my truck.

ya, my bad. alot of the newer paint colors are pearl, but they still look like they have little sparkles of metallic in them. A pearl color will change shades over the rolls and edges of a vehicle body, where a metallic color is usually a solid color with sparkle flakes. Get some HUGE 70's flakes... for that vintage look. kinda like an old speed boat or race helmet.... I have a ziploc bag full of flakes, just need something to spray them onto... PIMPIN!!!!!!!!

Re: I would like to hear your opinion about painting my truck.

Hey Bark, when I said something about the pearl it wasn't directed towards you. I didn't mean for it to come across that way if it did. When I was looking at the chips with the painter he then told me about the pearl. I was kind of suprised and then was expecting the dagger in the heart. I figured it cost a ton more for it but he said it was all about the same. I am not a fan of pearl when it is in white. With a darker color it doesn't look bad.
